Myself, my two children, my partner and all my friends marched on February 15th, 2003. It was the biggest, most energetic march that has ever happened in Hobart – 20,000 people was my guess. I saw old friends on the march that I had not seen in years. I was interviewed briefly on TV and stated that the warmongering was cynical, unnecessary and all about oil. It was a happy day when we all felt the world was on our side and we were speaking out together. Sadly, we grieved mostly alone when our Right Wing government completely ignored us and invaded Iraq anyway.
