Iraq (Baghdad )
The atmosphere in Baghdad may have been different than it was in the rest of the world ,tension , fear , and anticipation was roaming all around the country, I was 6 years old at then, just starting my first primary year schooling, I used to hear my father and mother talking , arguing on what steps should be taken for this family to survive the war safely, what more efforts could be done to prevent it ? we were in Jordan at them when we went on a march to save the last breath of this country , the last chance we may have had rescuing the future of Iraq and Iraqi people , at that young age I wasn’t very sure and aware what is and what is not going to happen , but along with my entire family I prayed for one thing : peace for this nation
and in every year that followed the invasion the Iraq , people commemorated the day of April 6 with a slogan: in such day many years ago , we were once a united nation and country
such a long time has passed since the war started , and Iraq has only progressed from bad to worst , spending 18 years living in this country , in this time , in this war time, in this violence and security collapse Iraq time , I can only wonder what would happen , or what Iraq I could have lived in , if the greatest peace demonstration in history was more successful in preventing the war not only in making it illegal .
I couldn’t be more proud as an Iraqi that millions of people around the globe , marched for the peace, security and defence of Iraq, I couldn’t be more proud that the biggest protests in many of these countries were for the sake Iraq , in UK, Spain, and New York, people felt connected with us back home in the doomed Iraq
