London

This was my first March I was 24, I went with my Mum and a local group she was a member of from our home town, Bury st Edmunds in Suffolk, the black and gold banner we marched under can been seen in the sea of people in many of the news reports and the movie. My mum had been involved in the CND marches of the 60’s as well as many other political and social demonstrations and actions, so this felt like a right of passage for me. I am tremendously proud that so many people came together in one place to stand up and be counted, people from all walks of life, young and old. It still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I see the footage of that day.
