I flew in from Italy, where I was living and working at the time, to join family and friends in London (where I’ve lived most of my life) to take part in this protest. It was peaceful and beautiful, with people from all walks of life and sections of society there in solidarity. Like so many others, when I was on the march, I felt a strong sense that they would listen to us after this huge show of humanity and love and the righteous protest. What followed a few days later left us all with heavy hearts.
