The biggest protest I’ve been to was also the one that made me realise that I didn’t live in the democracy I thought I did. Even though thousands demanded ‘NO WAR’, our country still went to war. I couldn’t understand how the country I’d been told was a democracy was able to so blatantly ignore the will of the people. What I did understand is that we were being told lies by the media and the politicians, and that we were the terrorists. It’s my shame to belong to a country that inflicts suffering and death, it’s my honour to join those that speak the truth.
