I marched in the demonstration against the Iraq war in Sydney. There were so many people marching that the front of the march caught up with the beginning before me and my friends had even set out. The mood of the crowd was jubilant and defiant. I had never seen so many people take to the streets ever before. The strong feeling was that history was on our side, and although the drums of war were being beaten loudly, we were awake to the truth. It is fair to say that this march changed me.
