WAËL KABBANI, IAMBIC DREAM FILMS

Waël and Iambic Dream Films have co-produced 6 feature length documentaries and one narrative short. Eight other documentaries are in production. Waël’s films have been screened at international film festivals, including the Berlinale/Berlin International Film Festival, Sheffield Doc/Fest, and Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival. His most recent project, WHAT WALAA WANTS, was awarded the Directors Guild of Canada’s Special Jury Prize for Canadian Feature Documentary, as well as four other awards. The film was also nominated for three Canadian Screen Awards, which are the Canadian equivalent of the Academy Awards, and Waël was nominated for a CSA as an Executive Producer.
