Signe was born in 1970. She has a Master’s degree in Communications and International Development Studies from Roskilde University, Denmark. She was the Editor of the magazine ZEBRA News, 1997-1998. Since 1998, she has produced several documentaries, including some in collaboration with SPOR MEDIA.
Signe co-founded the production company Final Cut for Real in 2009. Sørensen and film director Joshua Oppenheimer were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for the 2012 film The Act of Killing which was also nominated for a BAFTA. She was also the Producer of ‘The Look of Silence’ and ‘Shadow World’. The former was nominated for an Oscar.
